Product Description
Potatoes are the world’s fourth largest food crop, following maize, wheat and rice. It originated from South America from Peru, Chile and Bolivia. Whilst very popular today Europeans were very distrustful of the potato when it was first introduced to the continent. Some Englishmen who were so upset by the vegetable’s arrival they formed an activist group calling themselves “The Society for the Prevention of an Unwholesome Diet”, hence the term ‘spud’, however some believe this to be false.
