Product Description
The traditional practice of carving pumpkins into lanterns has its origin in Britain and Ireland only they used turnips (seriously?) instead of pumpkins. The practice centres on a myth about a drunkard named Stingy Jack who had such a silver tongue he deceived The Devil more than once. For his punishment, when he finally died, he was not allowed into Heaven or Hell, but left to roam the Netherworld for eternity. To keep him company Satan gave him an ember to keep inside. Hence the term Jack ‘o Lantern. That’s what you get for messin’ with the Lord of Hell.
