Pink Lady apples are known commercially as \’Cripps Pink\’. They were bred by John Cripps at The Western Australia Department of Agriculture in 1973. The Department owns the rights to the apple in over 80 countries. Pink Lady was created by crossing the \’Lady Williams\’ for firm long-storing property with the \’Golden Delicious\’ for sweetness and lack of storage scald.
